Our mission is to provide domestic triage for families and individuals who are homeless, newly housed, or working poor while they wait for assistance from government and/or private programs and/or are guided to access their own resources.
We respond to requests of those seeking help within 24 hours or less and domestic triage begins. Contact is made by email, text, or phone leading up to an in person visit to assess the situation and start the client directed assistance.
We provide all or part of a Starter Survival Kit which may include: 2 weeks of nonperishable food, personal, hygiene, and cleaning products, beds/air mattresses, sheets, pillows, towels, and items needed to prepare a meal. We collect information to begin developing an often long and changing plan to sustainability. This usually includes matching them with other organization that have the best chance of meeting their needs and then guiding them through the processes. We identify the client’s own skills and resources and encourage them to become proactive in this process.
We provide follow up on a regular basis for as long as it is beneficial to the client. The ability for our clients to stay out of homelessness involves a long commitment to our families.
